IN THE HEART OF TUSCANY
In the countryside around the little Renaissance town of Cerreto Guidi, along the ancient via Francigena, we take care of the vineyards our grandfather passed on to us. Every year we pick our grapes and dedicate ourselves to producing genuine wines linked to the land we grew up on.
Why “Colle Adimari”?
The name is a homage to the first family we have a record ofwhich lived on our hills, about eight hundred years ago, even before the arrival of the more famous Medicis. Our logo reflects the colour of the earth lit up by the sun and the blue of the sky which spreads over our vineyards for most of the year, but also the colours of the ancient coat of arms of the Adimari, ocre and sky blue.
BROTHER AND SISTER
Ever since we (Virginia and Niccolò) were young we have breathed our grandfather’s , and then our father’s , passion for the land and the wine. After studies and experiences in other environments and abroad we decided to set off on this adventure which excites us and puts us to the test every day.
Ettorino is our shadow even though by now he is everyone’s friend here, so much so that he has become Colle Adimari’s official mascot.
In day to day activities we benefit from two of our peers’ precious help:
We grew up with Marco at the local school. Today we work side by side and it often happens that between one tasting and another we remember amusing anecdotes about our childhood. We are linked by a deep tie of trust and friendship which is then reflected in our daily work. He follows the productive process of the wine in the business with us, from the vinification to the bottling.
After his degree in Agriculture , Jacopo was looking for a small environment where he could grow and apply his studies – that is how we met. He has been part of our family team for over a year, spending most of his days in the vineyard in close contact with nature, lending a hand wherever necessary, and always with his characteristic smile and enthusiasm.
OUR GRAPES, OUR WINES
“The vineyard is a world that I am discovering day after day , one that never stops surprising me. My aim is to learn important lessons from the history of the place, enhancing the territory, with bright eyes facing the future while respecting tradition.”
History, innovation and quality are the themes we care about.
I would like my wines to speak about me, about my brother and about the young people who work with us every day with great passion.
Together we try to give character to our “artisan” products , in the best and most noble sense of the term, creating wines with soul, of unequivocally Tuscan origin, which interpret and express our land in a fresh way. Without excluding the most modern methods and technology we carry out every stage of the production manually, both in the vineyards and the cellars, with the greatest respect for the environment, the land, and for its fruit.
